Chamber Choir
The CCHS Chamber Choir is an auditioned, advanced mixed choir of 32 voices. The Chamber Choir studies advanced accompanied and a cappella choral literature form a variety of genres. The choir focuses on the development of vocal and musical skills by the study of vocal technique, music theory, aural training, and music appreciation while aligning with the standards of the Utah State Core Curriculum for Secondary Music, Choir II. Interested students are recommended to invest themselves in private voice lessons although it is not required. Students will be expected to attend early morning 7 a.m. before school rehearsals on the days they do not have class. Participation with the Concert Choir in performances is required. An annual choir tour is included in the curriculum, and is expected of Chamber Choir singers, as it provides unique opportunities for significant personal and ensemble musical enhancement, academic growth and life-lasting memories of incredible times with some of your best friends!
Concert Choir
The CCHS Concert Choir is an non-auditioned, mixed choir. The Concert Choir studies accompanied and a cappella choral literature form a variety of genres. The choir focuses on the development of vocal and musical skills by the study of vocal technique, music theory, aural training, and music appreciation while aligning with the standards of the Utah State Core Curriculum for Secondary Music, Choir II. An annual choir tour is included in the curriculum, and is expected of Concert Choir singers, as it provides unique opportunities for significant personal and ensemble musical enhancement, academic growth and life-lasting memories of incredible times with some of your best friends!
Bella Voce Women's Choir
The CCHS Women's Choir known as Bella Voce focuses on SSA choral music, and prepares the female voice for more advanced choirs. The choir will also focus on matching pitch, reading music, part-singing, music fundamentals, stage presence, and basic performance skills. This choir participates with the Concert Choir and Chamber Choir at concerts as well as the annual choir tour. No audition is required. Previous experience in intermediate or middle school choirs is helpful, but not required.
Future CCHS Choir Students
The choral music program at CCHS is expected to grow as enrollment within the conesite increases (Crimson Cliffs Middle School pictured above, and Washington Fields Intermediate School) . Students participating have many opportunities to set the bar at a high level. Excellence is expected while having fun, exciting experiences. One of the goals at CCHS Choir programs is to be on the cutting edge of choral productions and explore innovative ways of performing. High levels of student learning, engagement and growth is the intended result!
